Jackson State women’s tennis remains undefeated in SWAC with win over Bethune-Cookman
Montgomery, Alabama — The Jackson State women’s tennis team improved to 4-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play after a 4-0 win over Bethune-Cookman on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers took the doubles point with a 6-2 victory by Tiara Alvarez and Daniela Tovar. Paula Corbalan and Isabella Benavides added a 6-3 win at second doubles to secure the opening point.
In singles play, freshman Victoria Linkovski gave Jackson State an early lead with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at third singles. Junior Helen Hernandez followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win, and Corbalan sealed the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at her position.
The Tigers will play FAMU on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Montgomery to conclude their weekend schedule.
