Jackson State Sweeps First Day of SWAC East Roundup with 5-0 Record
Huntsville, Ala. — Jackson State started the Southwestern Athletic Conference East Roundup strong Friday morning, winning all five matches and boosting its conference record to 17-2, according to team officials.
The Tigers began with a victory over Florida A&M, posting a match-high score of 1,015 to the Rattlers’ 792. They then defeated Alabama State 856-843 and cruised past Grambling State 780-562. Jackson State closed the day with wins against Texas Southern (877-848) and Prairie View A&M (911-847).
Jackson State players Faith Washington, Paige Hubert, and MacKenzie Conway are ranked in the top 10 individually. Washington is in second place with an average of 190.60 and a total of 953 pins, according to team sources.
The Tigers will face Southern in their first match Saturday at 10 a.m. to begin the second day of the SWAC East Roundup.
