Jackson State Men’s Tennis Loses Rematch to Alabama State in Montgomery

Montgomery, Ala. — Jackson State men’s tennis was defeated by Alabama State in a rematch of the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference championship on Sunday morning.

The Hornets took the initial doubles point after winning the first match. The Tigers responded by winning at number three doubles, with Federico Pickenstainer and Jhoan Vaquero defeating their opponents 6-4.

Alabama State clinched the doubles point on court two. Seniors Gokalp Ayar and Vaquero won their first sets 6-2 and 6-1, respectively, but Jackson State could not secure the overall victory as they dropped their third singles match.

The Tigers will look to bounce back when they return home to face Austin Peay on Thursday, March 12, at 2 p.m.
