Jackson State men’s tennis beats Mississippi Valley State 4-0 for second SWAC win
JACKSON, Miss. — The Jackson State men’s tennis team defeated Mississippi Valley State 4-0 in a quick match Friday afternoon. The Tigers secured the doubles point with a 6-0 victory at the No. 2 spot, courtesy of Jhoan Vaquero and Federico Pickenstainer.
With two wins needed due to forfeit rules, the Tigers relied on two seniors to clinch the victory. Vaquero, playing at No. 4 singles, finished with a perfect record after winning 6-0, 6-0. Gokalp Ayar closed out the match with another 6-0, 6-0 win, sealing the team’s second SWAC win of the season.
