Jackson State Falls to Lamar in Neutral Site Match

NATCHITOCHES, La. — Jackson State suffered a 6-1 defeat to Lamar at the Jack Fisher Lady Demon Complex on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers dropped the singles point and extended two matches into three sets.

Jackson State’s only point came at No. 4 singles, where Isabella Benavides defeated Lera Zaginayko 5-7, 6-3, 10-5. The Tigers also pushed two other matches into three sets, including No. 2 singles, where Victoria Linkovski lost to Zaginayko 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6).

At No. 1 singles, Arina Gudovskaya defeated Paula Corbalan 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. Jackson State (0-2) continues its road trip Thursday morning, facing Northwestern State at 11 a.m.
