Jackson State Breaks School Record at Bulldog Relays
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Da’Lon Harris broke the Jackson State school record in the men’s hammer throw with a distance of 53.07 meters during the Bulldog Relays hosted by Mississippi State from March 26-28.
Harris’s throw surpassed his previous best of 43.45 meters at last year’s Southern Miss Invitational by nearly 10 meters. His performance was among several notable results for the Tigers at the meet.
On the track, Duncan Koima finished second in the men’s 5,000 meters with a time of 15:04.22, while Collins Kibet was third with a time of 15:07.69. Rickey Green III placed second in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.43 seconds, and Sedgwrick Pitts Jr., coming off a SWAC Track Athlete of the Week honor, finished third in the 200 meters in 20.85 seconds.
In the women’s events, Kaylin Jackson posted a personal best in the 800 meters, finishing third in 2:10.16. The Georgia native’s performance marked a significant milestone for her this season.
