Jackson State Bowling Extends Winning Streak in SWAC West Roundup
Humble, Texas — Jackson State’s bowling team continued its strong performance Saturday at the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Roundup. The Tigers went 3-2 on the second day of competition, maintaining their momentum after a perfect first day.
The team opened Saturday by extending its winning streak to six matches with a narrow 922-919 victory over Southern. Their first loss of the day came against Alabama A&M, 961-851, followed by a 893-874 defeat to Florida A&M.
Jackson State responded with wins over Alabama State, 1,033-800, and Grambling, 895-678, to improve its conference record to 8-2. Paige Hubert led all bowlers in both average and pin total, posting a 212.10 average and 2,121 pins. She remains the only bowler with an average above 200.
Freshman Tiara Henderson joined Hubert in the standings, ranking ninth with a 184.30 average and 1,843 pins. The Tigers are set to conclude the SWAC West Roundup Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
