Hinds Baseball Opens 2026 Season with Doubleheader Sweep of Millsaps

The Hinds Community College baseball team opened the 2026 season with a doubleheader sweep against Millsaps College on Friday at Joe G. Moss Field. The Eagles won the first game 16–2 and the second 8–3, improving to 2–0.

In the opener, Hinds took control early, scoring multiple runs in the first inning and maintaining the lead throughout the game. The offense featured contributions across the lineup, combining timely hitting with aggressive base running. On the mound, Peyton Beck earned the win, pitching 3.1 innings with one hit, one run allowed, and seven strikeouts. Relief pitchers Sam Stumph, Charles Chisolm, and Thomas Nichols finished the game.

Hinds continued its offensive pressure in the second game, scoring in four different innings and finishing with 11 hits. Aiden Melna led the team with a three-hit performance, scoring twice and driving in a run. Cade Fairley also went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Ryder Molea added three hits, including a two-RBI single, while Kylan Landers contributed two RBIs. Jacob Galloway earned the win, tossing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts and two hits allowed. Relief was provided by Ford Matthews, Tyler West, and Jack Grove.
