Green III Wins 110-Meter Hurdles as Jackson State Places Five in Top Three at Joe Walker Invite

Oxford, Mississippi — Rickey Green III won the 110-meter hurdles for the second consecutive week, leading Jackson State at the Joe Walker Invite over the weekend. The sophomore from Sacramento, California, finished in 14.33 seconds, earning first place against a competitive field.

Jackson State had a strong showing across multiple events, with four other athletes finishing in the top three. Junior Kaylin Jackson placed second in the women’s 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.25. Callie Calicut set a season best in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 1:02.10.

In field events, Kaiden Berry recorded a third-place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 50.62 meters, while Sedgwrick Pitts Jr. finished third in the 200-meter dash in 21.17 seconds. Additionally, six Tigers achieved personal or season bests, including Kierstin Mumford and Ashanti Patton in triple jump, Malayna Mallory in hammer throw, Robert Salhab III in discus, Eric Lagat in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Duncan Koima in the 1,500-meter race, and Gabrielle Langford in the 200-meter dash.
