Fallas wins singles match as Jackson State falls to UTRGV
Jackson, Miss. — Fabrizio Fallas led Jackson State’s men’s tennis team with a singles victory Friday afternoon at home. Fallas defeated Paolo Bonaguro of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6 singles position, earning the Tigers their only point of the match.
In doubles play, the teams of Roger Chiu and Chen Hung Yu, as well as Gokalp Ayar and Fallas, each recorded three points. The Tigers faced a tough challenge but showed resilience in doubles competition.
Jackson State will look to bounce back Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Xavier University of Louisiana, according to school officials.
