After a close first quarter that ended 20–19 in favor of Delta State, the Lady Statesmen had a cold second period, shooting just 2-of-13. They responded with a 21-point third quarter to regain control and then delivered their best offensive performance in the fourth, aided by perimeter shooting and an 11-of-12 effort at the free-throw line. Delta State led for more than 21 minutes and built its largest lead of 11 points late in the game.
