Delta State Men’s Golf Ties for 10th After Day One at Arkansas Collegiate

The Delta State University men’s golf team concluded the first day of the 2026 Arkansas Collegiate tied for 10th place after 36 holes at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas, according to school officials.

Two players led the Statesmen with consistent performances. Niko Salmi and Payne Bius each posted two-round totals of 161, or 17 over par. Both golfers maintained steady rounds, helping Delta State stay in the middle of a competitive leaderboard heading into the final round.

Ty Werynski added a total of 165, or 21 over par, highlighted by a solid opening round. His efforts contributed to the team score as the Statesmen navigated a challenging course setup. Several teams remain closely packed on the leaderboard after day one.

With one round remaining, Delta State aims to improve its position and finish strong. The team is within striking distance of a top-five finish and plans to return to the course Tuesday for the final round of the tournament.
