Old Hickory, Tenn. — Delta State opened play at the 2026 Music City Invitational on Monday at Hermitage Golf Course. The team finished the first day with a score of 579, 19 over par on the par-70 layout.
The Statesmen were led by Cooper Jones and Gonzalo De Minon, who are tied for 38th after posting identical 36-hole totals of 144, four over par. Jones shot rounds of 72 and 72, while De Minon opened with a 71 before finishing with a 73.
Niko Salmi also contributed for Delta State, sitting in a tie for 44th with a total of 146, six over par. Salmi posted back-to-back rounds of 73.
Delta State will return to the course Tuesday morning for the final round, aiming to improve their position and finish strong in the event.
