The Delta State University women’s tennis doubles team of freshman Amelia Ciesielczyk and senior Yasmina Mayer has cracked the top 50 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s weekly rankings.
The Lady Statesmen’s No. 1 doubles duo is ranked 49th after opening the season 3-0, including a 6-3 victory over the sixth-ranked doubles team of Karli Roux and Brooke Coffman from Harding University. The win helped Delta State secure a 4-1 team victory over Harding last Friday at the Cleveland Country Club.
Delta State is scheduled to play next Tuesday in Jackson, where they will face Division I opponent Jackson State.
