Bruce Shines in Game Two as Mississippi Valley Falls to Alcorn

Lorman, Mississippi — Mississippi Valley State University softball team was limited offensively in a doubleheader against Alcorn State, falling 6-0 and 5-1. The Diamond Devils held the Braves’ offense in check for most of the day but couldn’t generate enough runs to secure a win.

In the opening game, Alcorn’s offense was led by Jamiyah Gary, who recorded two of the team’s three hits, including an extra-base double. Devyn Dotson singled and drew a walk for Mississippi Valley. Sheridan Kynard stole two bases for the Diamond Devils.

Madison Bruce pitched well in the second game, striking out four and allowing three earned runs over seven innings. Her performance kept the game competitive, but Alcorn pulled ahead.
