Blue Mountain’s Cody Presley earns second SSAC Baseball Player of the Week award

Montgomery, Alabama — Blue Mountain Christian standout Cody Presley was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the second time this season, after a dominant offensive showing helped the Toppers go 5-0 last week.

Presley played a key role in the Toppers’ successful stretch, which included a doubleheader sweep of Crowley’s Ridge and a three-game sweep of Point University in their first SSAC series of the year. Over five games, he posted a .668 batting average and slugged .750, driving in eight runs.

Head Coach Taylor Clark praised Presley’s approach at the plate. Clark said Presley has been focused from the start of the season, noting his preparation, confidence, and calm presence. “Cody has been locked in from day one this season,” Clark said. “His preparation, confidence, and ability to stay within himself at the plate set the tone for our lineup. He competes every at-bat and brings a calm presence that our team feeds off of.”

Presley’s consistent performance has been a driving force for the Toppers’ early success in conference play. With his second weekly award, he continues to be a key contributor to Blue Mountain’s offensive surge.
