Montgomery, Ala. — The Blue Mountain Christian University women’s tennis team faced the University of Mobile Rams on Friday morning at the SSAC Roundup. The Toppers were defeated 7-0 in conference play.
In doubles action, Blue Mountain’s teams fought hard but were unable to secure a point. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos lost 6-3 on the top court. Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia also fell 6-3 on court two, while Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris dropped their match 6-2 on court three.
Blue Mountain continued competing in singles matches. Mordiz pushed her opponent on the top court, but lost in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Cetina was defeated 6-1, 6-4. Garcia and Malyaporn also fell, with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-2, respectively. Ramos lost 6-0, 6-3 on court five, and Terris was defeated 6-0, 6-1 on court six.
The Toppers will continue conference play at the SSAC Roundup as they aim to gain experience and momentum against tough competition, according to team officials.
