Blue Mountain Women’s Tennis Falls to Loyola in SSAC Opener

Montgomery, Ala. — The Blue Mountain Christian University women’s tennis team lost its opening match at the SSAC Tennis Roundup on Thursday, falling 7-0 to Loyola University of Louisiana. The event features multiple conference matchups as teams begin the heart of SSAC competition.

In doubles play, Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos teamed up at No. 1 but lost 6-3. Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia also dropped their No. 2 doubles match 6-3. Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris competed at No. 3 doubles but fell 6-2, giving Loyola the doubles point.

In singles, Mordiz played well at No. 1 but was defeated 4-6, 3-6. Cetina lost at No. 2 singles 1-6, 4-6, while Garcia was defeated 1-6, 0-6 at No. 3. Malyaporn dropped her match at No. 4 singles 2-6, 2-6. Ramos took the opening set at No. 5 before losing 6-0, 3-6. Terris lost at No. 6 singles 0-6, 1-6.

The Toppers will continue competition at the SSAC Roundup as the conference schedule progresses in Montgomery.
