Blue Mountain Christian Women open tennis season with win over Millsaps

NEW ALBANY, Miss. — The Blue Mountain Christian Women’s tennis team defeated Millsaps College 6-1 Saturday to open the 2026 season. The Lady Toppers secured the win with strong performances in both doubles and singles matches.

Blue Mountain opened with three doubles victories, including wins by Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos, Lina Cetina and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia, and Valeria Manquillo and Kiersten Terris. Mordiz and Ramos each earned singles wins, with Mordiz taking Court 1 via forfeit and Ramos winning 6-0, 6-2. Cetina also won her singles match 6-0, 6-2, on Court 2, while Rodriguez Garcia won 6-0, 6-0 on Court 5. Manquillo secured a win on Court 3, 6-0, 6-2, and Nami Malyaporn won her match 6-2, 6-3 on Court 6.

The Lady Toppers, now 1-0, are scheduled to return to action Tuesday against Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. Central time.
