Blue Mountain Christian Sweeps No. 19 UT Southern in Historic Softball Doubleheader

Blue Mountain Christian softball continued its historic season Saturday at the BMCU Sportsplex, sweeping No. 19 UT Southern in a doubleheader. The games featured a walk-off victory and set a new program record for wins in a season.

In the first game, the Toppers rallied from behind to beat the Jaguars 6-5 in eight innings. Aspen Teague drove in two runs, including the tying hit in the seventh inning. Bre Ramsey sealed the win with a walk-off double to left center. Anna Harrison contributed two RBIs, and Ramsey and Teague each had two hits as Blue Mountain Christian totaled 10 hits.

Madison Montgomery earned the win in the circle, pitching all eight innings and allowing four earned runs. She showed resilience after being hit by a line drive during the game, remaining in to finish the effort.

The Toppers carried momentum into the second game, winning 7-2. Ramsey led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance and four RBIs, including a three-run triple in the fifth inning. Teague and Mikaylah Fuqua added multi-hit efforts, and Neely Cooper pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out seven. The victory secured the sweep and improved the team’s record for wins in a season, a new program milestone.

The sweep marked a significant achievement for the program, underscoring its successful and historic year. The Toppers continue to build on a season that has already seen many milestones.
