Blue Mountain, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University swept Crowley’s Ridge College in a doubleheader on Tuesday at home. The Toppers edged the Eagles 4-3 in the opener before exploding offensively in the second game to secure the sweep.
The first game was a tight contest, with runs hard to come by. Blue Mountain Christian took an early lead in the second inning when Gavin Foley drove in a run through aggressive baserunning. Crowley’s Ridge responded with a two-run homer in the third to take the lead, but the Toppers answered immediately with an RBI single from Cody Presley. The game remained close, with Blue Mountain Christian reclaiming the lead in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Jake Meilstrup. The Eagles tied the game at three in the seventh, but Jarret Morris delivered a clutch RBI double with two outs to give the Toppers a 4-3 lead.
