Blue Mountain Christian Opens Season 13-0 with Doubleheader Sweep

Blue Mountain Christian continued its historic start to the 2025-26 softball season Thursday, sweeping a doubleheader and improving to 13-0, the best start in program history, according to school officials.

In Game One, the Toppers controlled from the outset, scoring early and maintaining pressure throughout the game. They finished with 10 hits and received contributions from Maryn Macri, Mikaylah Fuqua, Karen Wisher, Rachel Rommel, and Neely Barrier, who drove in runs. Barrier also delivered a key extra-base hit in the late innings. Madison Montgomery pitched a complete game, allowing only one run over seven innings and limiting scoring opportunities.

Defensively, Blue Mountain Christian was efficient, committing no errors and consistently making routine plays behind Montgomery. The momentum carried into Game Two, where the Toppers again jumped out early and maintained control. They scored in multiple innings, utilizing timely hitting and aggressive base running. Macri led the offense with a multi-RBI performance, while several others contributed hits and runs.

The pitching staff combined to hold the opponent to just two hits in the second game, securing a shutout victory. The defense remained sharp, completing the sweep and preserving the unbeaten record. The 13-0 start marks the strongest in program history, reflecting a well-rounded team effort in all phases of the game.
