Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Tennis Continues Winning Streak with Win Over Rust College

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Blue Mountain Christian University’s men’s tennis team extended its winning streak with a 5-2 victory over Rust College on Thursday.

The Toppers took the doubles point with wins from Luis Lainer and Kevin Kotzé on Court 1, 6-1, and Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins on Court 3, 6-3. Juan Daniel Arevalo Rodriguez and Shriraam Anbanantan lost their doubles match 4-6.

In singles play, Lainer dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on Court 1. Blevins edged out his opponent in a three-set match, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8, on Court 2. Rogers won 6-4, 7-6 on Court 3, while Arevalo Rodriguez lost 1-6, 2-6 on Court 4. Luis Felipe Cespedes secured a straight-set win, 6-4, 6-3, on Court 5. Joel Renfroe was defeated in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-10, on Court 6.

Blue Mountain Christian improved to 2-0 and will host Christian Brothers at 10 a.m. and Cumberland University at 1 p.m. Friday in Memphis.
