Blue Mountain Christian Men Fall to Cumberland and Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Blue Mountain Christian men’s tennis team lost two matches Friday in Memphis. In the first, Cumberland defeated the Toppers 6-1, marking their first loss of the 2026 season.

Cumberland secured the doubles point with wins on Courts 2 and 3. Adriaan Engelbrecht and Kevin Kotze won Blue Mountain’s only point of the day with a 6-3 victory on Court 1. Several players, including Kotze, Pablo Cruz, Luis Lainer, Shriraam Anbanantan, and Craig Blevins, lost their singles matches.

Later in the afternoon, Blue Mountain fell 7-0 to Christian Brothers. The Buccaneers took the doubles point with wins on Courts 2 and 3. Engelbrecht played a tough match on Court 1 but lost 5-7, 0-6. Lainer competed well on Court 4 but fell 1-6, 5-7.

Blue Mountain Christian, now 2-1, will return to action Feb. 27 against Missouri Baptist in Little Rock, Arkansas, at 2 p.m. CT, according to team officials.
