The Blue Mountain Christian University men’s golf team finished seventh in a 12-team field at the Roadrunner Classic at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Georgia, according to the school.

The tournament featured 11 teams ranked inside the NAIA Top 25. Blue Mountain was led by Alex Nordstrom, who tied for sixth place with rounds of 75, 67, and 75 for a total of 217. Nordstrom’s second-round 67 helped him climb the leaderboard against a nationally ranked field.

Cobey Riddle also posted a strong performance, finishing tied for 10th with rounds of 72, 72, and 74 for a total of 218. Simon Meiby tied for 34th with rounds of 79, 73, and 78, finishing at 230. Acen Lambert placed 48th after rounds of 83, 77, and 77, totaling 237. Damil Ataullah finished 57th with rounds of 78, 82, and 81, ending with a total of 241.

Head coach Kevin Barefield praised his team for competing well against one of the strongest fields they will face this season. “This is one of the biggest tournaments we will play in all season, if not the biggest, and I was proud of how our guys competed against some of the best teams in the country,” Barefield said. “We had some really strong individual rounds, especially from Alex and Cobey, and this experience against top competition will help us as we continue preparing for postseason play.”

The Toppers will look to build on the experience gained at the event as they continue their spring season.
