Blue Mountain Christian falls to Bethel in road match

McKenzie, Tenn. — The Blue Mountain Christian men’s tennis team traveled to Tennessee on Tuesday and was defeated 7-0 by Bethel University.

Several matches were competitive, despite the final score. In doubles play, Adriaan Englebrecht and Luis Lainer lost 6-4 on the top court. Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins fell 6-1 on court two, while Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé lost 6-4 in the third doubles match.

In singles, Englebrecht was defeated 6-0, 6-3 on the No. 1 court. Blevins lost 6-2, 6-1, and Cruz dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision. Kotzé played a close match, pushing his first set to a tiebreak before losing 7-6, 6-2. Parra was defeated 6-0, 6-2, and Lainer lost in a match tiebreaker, 10-5.

The team is expected to regroup as they prepare for their next match, according to a team spokesperson.
