Belhaven’s Minton and Dame Earn CCS Weekly Basketball Honors

ATLANTA — Belhaven University swept the Collegiate Conference of the South’s weekly men’s basketball awards, with CJ Minton named Player of the Week and Braylon Dame earning Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The Blazers secured two conference wins, extending their undefeated start in CCS play and a five-game winning streak. Minton, a junior guard from Indianola, Mississippi, contributed significantly with consistent scoring and perimeter shooting. He averaged 16.5 points and five rebounds over the two games, shooting 9-for-17 from three-point range. His best performance came against LaGrange, when he scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Freshman guard Braylon Dame from Moulton, Alabama, received his second CCS Rookie of the Week award this season. He averaged 11 points during the two-game stretch and scored 14 points in the win over Asbury. Dame provided steady production off the bench for Belhaven during the unbeaten conference week.

Belhaven returns to action Friday in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, for a game against Covenant.
