Belhaven Women’s Tennis Falls to Agnes Scott in CCS Match
Decatur, Georgia — The Belhaven University women’s tennis team lost to Agnes Scott College 6-1 Saturday in a Collegiate Conference of the South match.
The Scott team claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, while the No. 3 doubles match was decided by forfeit, according to match reports.
Rebekah Nichols provided the lone point for Belhaven with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 6-0. The win marked her third singles victory of the spring season and continued her consistent performance at the top of the lineup.
Millie Gallarno played a competitive match at No. 2 singles, winning the first set 6-2 before Agnes Scott rallied to win in a third-set super tiebreak. Evey Moore pushed her match to a tiebreak in the second set but ultimately fell 7-6 at No. 3 singles.
Arica Eason and Gracyn Martin competed at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, but Agnes Scott secured the remaining singles points to clinch the team victory. Belhaven is scheduled to return home next Thursday to face Huntingdon College in conference play.
