Belhaven Track Athletes Drew Duckworth, Kimona Haynes Named C Spire Athletes of the Week

JACKSON, Miss. — Drew Duckworth and Kimona Haynes of Belhaven University have been named C Spire Athletes of the Week. The awards recognize their performances in track and field from last Wednesday through Tuesday.

Duckworth, a senior mid-distance runner from Denham Springs, Louisiana, posted personal records in multiple events. He ran the indoor 600 meters in 1:28.90, the 800 meters in 2:06.35, and the mile in 5:00.24 at various meets last weekend. Duckworth finished ninth at the KMS Invitational, according to school officials.

Haynes, a senior sprinter from Jackson, Mississippi, excelled in four events. Her top finish was third place in the indoor 200-meter dash with a time of 25.60 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 60-meter dash in 8.04 seconds.
