Belhaven Softball Starts No. 14 in NFCA Division III Coaches Poll

Jackson, Miss. — Belhaven University’s softball team is ranked No. 14 in the NFCA Division III Top 25 preseason poll, released Tuesday morning. The ranking follows a standout 2025 season in which the Blazers finished 32-9 overall and 14-2 in the Collegiate Conference of the South.

Belhaven won its second CCS Tournament championship and made its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III softball tournament. The team returns key players from last year’s championship squad, including first-team all-conference selections Reagan Bryan and Macy Funderburk, along with second-team honoree Ellie Williamson, according to the school.

The Blazers also were picked second in the 2026 CCS Preseason Poll, earning 59 points and three first-place votes earlier Monday.

In postseason play last year, Belhaven secured the conference tournament title with a 2-0 win over Maryville in the championship game and defeated Huntingdon in the semifinals. The team then advanced to NCAA Regional competition, earning a 14-1 victory over Marymount at the Marshall Regional.

The 2026 season begins Tuesday, Feb. 7, when Belhaven hosts LeTourneau in a non-conference doubleheader scheduled to start at 1 p.m., according to the school. The NFCA/GoRout Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll is determined by 10 NCAA Division III head coaches representing all regions of the division.

Belhaven’s full preseason poll placement and more updates on the team can be found through the school’s social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Fans are also encouraged to support Belhaven Athletics through the Team Green Giving program.
