Belhaven Athletes Julius Phillips and Grace Langston Named C Spire Athletes of the Week

Jackson, Miss. — Julius Phillips of the Belhaven Track & Field team and Grace Langston of the softball team have been named C Spire Athletes of the Week, the university announced.

Phillips, a sophomore sprinter from Crossett, Arkansas, set two personal records at the Belhaven Invitational. He finished the 100-meter dash in 10.89 seconds and the 200-meter race in 22.28 seconds, according to school officials.

Langston, a junior outfielder from Niceville, Florida, went 6-for-6 at the plate across four games last week. She helped lead the Blazers to a 4-0 road trip against Agnes Scott and Wesleyan, driving in six runs and scoring six times, the university said.

The Blazers Track & Field team is scheduled to host its second meet of the season next week at the Blazers Midweek Open. Meanwhile, Langston and the softball team will travel to Covenant for a doubleheader Saturday.
