Arkansas beats Mississippi State 88-68 in SEC clash

Mississippi State fell to No. 21 Arkansas 88-68 Saturday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum. The Razorbacks built a double-digit lead in the first half with a 19-2 run, leading 43-30 at halftime, and maintained control in the second half.

Arkansas scored 18 points in the first 5:19 of the second half, pushing its lead to as many as 20 points and ultimately securing the victory. The Bulldogs struggled to contain the Razorbacks’ offense, especially in transition, where Arkansas scored 19 points off 11 turnovers.

Mississippi State’s top scorer was Josh Hubbard, who finished with 16 points and five assists. Achor Achor added 15 points, along with eight rebounds and two steals. Despite their efforts, the Bulldogs could not close the gap.

The Razorbacks shot 52.2% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range. Mississippi State shot 45.9% overall and 20% from beyond the arc. Arkansas also led in rebounds 38-33 and committed fewer turnovers (11 to seven).

Mississippi State will host Tennessee on Feb. 11 at Humphrey Coliseum. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will air on ESPN2.
