Alcorn State Basketball Heads to Florida for SWAC Road Trip
Alcorn State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are traveling to Florida this week for a four-game Southwestern Athletic Conference road trip. The schedule runs from Jan. 22 to Jan. 26, with games in Daytona Beach and Tallahassee, Florida.
The Lady Braves open the trip Thursday in Daytona Beach against Bethune-Cookman. The game marks the start of a demanding stretch away from home as they seek consistency in conference play. On Saturday, they will travel to Tallahassee to face Florida A&M, an important matchup as SWAC standings take shape midseason.
The men’s team joins the Lady Braves in Tallahassee for a doubleheader, providing both teams a chance to gain momentum on the road. The men conclude the trip Monday night in Daytona Beach, facing Bethune-Cookman to close out the Florida swing.
This road trip is a key part of the teams’ efforts to improve their positions in the SWAC standings and build momentum for the remainder of the season. The games are played away from the Davey L. Whitney Complex and are considered crucial for both programs’ conference aspirations.
