SEC Suspends Multiple Fall Sports Until August 31st
Sadly, the writing may be on the wall.
The Southeastern Conference office announced today in an email to media members that volleyball, soccer, and cross country competition until August 31st for the fourteen member colleges.
This news comes while SEC athletic directors meet at the SEC main office in Birmingham to discuss a plan of action for all fall sports, including football.
While football would not have begun until after August 31st, this move could be an indication that the SEC is trying to buy all the time it can to salvage what looks to be an unlikely “on-time” start to football season.
The SEC still has hope to play a full twelve game schedule, and no other official announcement has been made at the time of this article posting.
