Walnut’s Braydin Spight Signs to Play Football at Itawamba Community College
Walnut High School standout Braydin Spight is taking the next step in his football career, signing to continue playing at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
Spight, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound lineman, leaves Walnut as one of the most decorated players in recent program history. A four-year starter for the Walnut Wildcats, he earned All-Tippah County honors three consecutive seasons and consistently ranked among the top linemen in Class 1-2A competition.
His list of accolades reflects both durability and dominance in the trenches.
Spight was named 1-2A First Team All-Division in 2022. In 2023, he earned Super 22 All-Region Lineman honors and was selected as the Daily Corinthian First Team All-Area Tackle. He repeated as a Super 22 All-Region Lineman in 2024 and 2025, while also earning First Team All-Area recognition both years. He was named a Farm Bureau Player of the Week in 2024 and 2025.
As a sophomore, Spight competed in the Super Sophomore All-Star Game at East Central Community College in 2023, further showcasing his talent against top competition from across the state.
Spight received four collegiate offers, including Itawamba Community College, East Central Community College, East Mississippi Community College and Northeast Mississippi Community College.
Ultimately, he chose ICC, where his size, strength and experience are expected to make an immediate impact on the line of scrimmage.
Spight’s signing marks another milestone for Walnut football and highlights the continued development of local talent in Tippah County. With four years of starting experience and a proven track record of postseason honors, Spight now turns his focus toward competing at the junior college level and continuing to build on an already impressive resume.
