Bulldogs’ 2025-26 men’s hoops opponents

June 18, 2025 -The Mississippi State men’s basketball program had its 18 SEC matchups unveiled for the 2025-26 season announced Wednesday by the conference office.
SEC action starts on Saturday, Jan. 3 and runs through Saturday, March 7. Every team will play each other at least once and will have a bye over the nine-week stretch.
State will keep its home-and-home series with Alabama and Ole Miss for the 11th straight season, while the Bulldogs also will take on Missouri twice for the fourth time during the regular season since 2019-20.
All nine of State’s SEC home opponents are coming off NCAA Tournament berths headed by Auburn who made the 2025 NCAA Final Four. The Bulldogs also welcome Alabama and Tennessee who are coming off 2025 NCAA Elite Eight trips along with Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt to Humphrey Coliseum.
State travels to Florida, the defending NCAA National Champions, in addition to road outings versus Alabama, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas and Texas A&M.
The SEC will release game dates, game times and television information at a later date.
The Maroon and White is led by Chris Jans who is one of four coaches in SEC history to amass at least 21 victories and guide his squad to a NCAA Tournament appearance during each of his first three seasons.
Already released, State’s non-conference schedule has taken shape with a Black Friday football-basketball doubleheader as the Bulldogs play host to SMU on Friday, Nov. 28 followed by Memphis on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs have a neutral site showcase matchup with Iowa State on Monday, Nov. 10 at the Sanford Pentagon located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
State will be joined by Kansas State, Nebraska and New Mexico at the 2025 Hall of Fame Classic on Nov. 20-21 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Maroon and White has a return matchup with Utah at the Delta Center, home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz. State also is scheduled to head to Georgia Tech for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The Bulldogs also have non-conference home meetings with Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Nov. 15, New Orleans on Monday, Nov. 24 and Long Island on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
